December 26, 2015 Guadeloupe
When I woke up this morning we were already in port. I had breakfast with Linda and Earl in the Main dining room. Since it was already 81 degrees out we decided to go out right away. The local tourism office brought people onboard to help plan our day. We wanted to go to the Botanical Garden. The nice man showed us how to get there and we left the ship. At the bottom of the gangway was the Locations Guide. She asked if we’d put on insect repellent. So we went back on board and put on our bug juice. Finally at 9:30am we started walking south and then turned and walked up hill until we got to the garden. It was closed for the Boxing Day holiday. Wouldn’t you think the local tourism man would have known this? We walked back passing others doing the same trek. It was 11am when we got back to the Main street and agreed we should just go back to the ship for lunch.
Before lunch we took a dip in the Seaview pool to cool down. After lunch we played a game of Scattergories before Trivia.
We went to Canaletto for dinner and had a very nice dinner. Afterwards, we saw 3 of the performers do their farewell performance. New performers will board at the next 2 ports while these will leave us.
Tomorrow we will be in St. Lucia and will do a tour. St. Lucia is port # 4 of 7 port days in a row.
Strange about the gardens. Too bad you couldn’t get to see it. Thx for the update.
