December 27, 2015 Castries, St. Lucia
This was the 5th port out of 7 ports in a row. (Yesterday I said 4th but I was wrong)
We set out on The World Heritage Tour at 9am. We drove through Castries and then started going around the island to get to Souffries. Our tour was over 5 hours long and the guide talked non- stop. We stopped a few times for photo ops and bathroom breaks. At Souffries, we drove into the “drive-in volcano”. We got to smell alot of sulphur. Next we went to Mome Coulbani Estate and learned about coconuts and cocoa beans. We got a snack before getting on the bus for the 1+ hour ride back to the ship. All aboard time was 2:30pm. We arrived back at 2:28pm but there was still one bus not back. We were 1/4 hour late leavking the port.
We did scenic cruising on the way to Barbados to see the Pitons. The Captain spun the ship around so everyone could get a good look at the Pitons. It was right before sunset and it was a spectacular sight.
I attended a Port and Chocolate tasting. Yummy! We had 2 ruby ports and one tawny port. At the end we each got a Spanish Coffee. There were only 8 participants. The rest of the ship doesn’t know what they are missing.
Note to my family: When I get home, I am reserving a cabin on the 2017 67 day South American cruise. Earl and Linda already made their reservations.

  1. Such beautiful photos, Elsie! Sounds like you’re having a great time. Wow! A 67-day cruise for 2017! Is that the longest cruise you have done?

BTW, have you met everyone on the Prisendam yet?
