December 28 – Barbados

December 28, 2015 Barbados
We arrived at Bridgetown around 7am and the announcement that we were cleared to get off came at 8am. There were 3 other ships in port (Celebrity, Princess, and Oceania).
We were on an excursion called The Best of Barbados. We first drove to Gun Hill Signal Station. The British were able to fend off foreign attacks using 6 signal hills that could see approaching ships.
Next, we went to Orchid World. It isn’t the time of year when most are flowering so this stop was a little disappointing. We did see some interesting plants though.
Last, we went to the Sunbury House which is a restored 300 year old plantation house. After the tour we were given fish cakes and rum drinks.
We got back to the ship around 1pm and had lunch. Then I went to the theater to see Ricky and the Flash with Meryl Streep. I slept through the first 30 minutes (I think it was the rum).
Tonight’s entertainment is a mentalist/comedian. I think I will go at 8pm and then go to bed early.
Tomorrow is Bequia.
