Sept. 20 -21 – Newark to Cernobbio

September 20 – 21 – Newark to Milan to Cernobbio, Italy
i arrived at Newark Airport at 1:30pm. My flight wasn’t loading until 5:45 so I had a lot of time to hang out in the Business Class lounge. While waiting to board, I ran into WJ and Lauranne who find the tours and do the ground work with Grand Circle Travel or Overseas Adventure Travel. We have a group of 10. On the pre-trip, there are 6 other people on the tour.
My flight left Newark 40 6 late but we landed right on time. I slept about 2 hours and watched 3 movies (Hail Caesar, Joy, and The Man who knew Infinity. )
I had a text from my friend Carol that she was already there. We all met up and a van drove us to our hotel in Cernobbio. They had rooms ready for us so we had time to unpack. Carol and I went out at noon and had pizza for lunch. It was very good.
We all met our tour leader at 3:30pm to get an orientation walk of the area near the hotel. The lake is just down the block from our hotel. At 6pm we met again to get some basic tour information and to have a welcome drink. Seven of us went to a small neighborhood restaurant at dinner. The owner/chef served us and the food was so good that we will probably eat there again. I had the special pumpkin ravioli with sage and sausage.
Tomorrow we take the ferry to Como.
