I flew to Ft Lauderdale on New Year’s Day and the cruise started today.
I got to the port at 11:15am and was on the ship by 11:35am. Everything was decorated for our Grand South American cruise.
The first glitch today came when I was missing one of the bags that I had shipped to the ship. We were sailing out at 8pm so by 6pm I was getting nervous. They finally found it misplaced and I am finally unpacked.
The only other problem I had was getting on and off the internet. They finally fixed the problem and reimbursed me for the 30 minutes I had used up trying to logoff.
The next 2 days are sea days but I’ll try to find something interesting to blog about.
Elsie, I am so looking forward to “going” on this cruise with you! When you get to the Galapagos please send me some pics of birds! Interesting, different birds. I will be looking forward to see how you feel about a trip like this and if you would recommend and then if you do, to obtain “pearls” of advice. Dave and I are taking a wine cruise through Bordeaux in April. Paris in April, I have never been to France!

Bill and I are looking forward to traveling with you on this trip! I agree with Rosie (Hi Rosie and Dave!) — anxious to see how you like this trip. Know you will have so much fun and see so many great places. Just wondering about length. Cheers and Bon voyage!

Looking forward to another of your wonderful blogs! We’ll be a month behind you and not going nearly as far on the Amazon Explorer so the port reports will be most welcome.

Love reading your blogs! Thank you so much for always taking the time to “take us all along” on your great trips. So looking forward to hearing all about this great adventure. Interested in the onboard differences between a grand cruise and a regular long cruise. Have fun!

Nothing like a little excitement to get a trip going. I am so glad to hear that they found your bag and I am hoping this is the most stressful time on this fantastic voyage – gone and very forgettable. Enjoy!
