March 2, 2018 – Isla Santiago
We got to sleep in and have breakfast at 7:30. At 9am some in the group went out on the kayaks. We were moored near Espumilla beach.
After lunch the ship sailed to James Bay. We took the Zodiacs into a beach and hiked on a path through trees and bushes. We turned back after seeing “Darwin’s Toilet” which is just a pool fed by ocean water that looks like a flushing toilet. From there we hiked back along the waters edge. The sun was brutal. Two of us got sun stroke symptoms and headed back to the ship as quickly as possible. I took a long, cold shower until I cooled down.
Next on the agenda was snorkeling but I decided to skip it. The group that went said the water was too murky to see anything.
I keep trying my camera but it still is DOA.
