September 5 and 6, 2018 – Flying to Barcelona
My adventure started with taking BART from Pleasanton to the Coliseum station switching to the Oakland Airport connector. I checked in for my 8:05pm flight at 5:15pm. While waiting I had a nice chat with a woman flying to Berlin via Stockholm.
They started loading the plane at 8pm and we took off at 8:40pm. The flight was uneventful. I slept about 4 hours. We landed 15 minutes later than scheduled but had to wait 40 minutes before luggage arrived. I quickly made my way out to meet the driver I had arranged to get me to the hotel.
I checked into my hotel, H10 Hotel Port Vell, at 5:30pm local time .(2:30am PDT). After a trip, to a nearby ATM for Euros. I decided that a shower and sleep were more important than food.
Tomorrow I have a tour set up of Sagrada Familia and the highlights of Barcelona that starts at 8:30am. If I had thought this out a little better, I should have left myself a day for recovery from jet lag.
The picture is my hotel room.
Barcelona one of my favorite cities. The Sagrada is not to be believed. Enjoy your stay. The food is delicious too
