September 18, 2018 – Dubrovnik, Croatia
We moored about 2.5 miles outside the city. I was disappointed because I wanted to get pictures of the wall from the sea.
I was able to get on the first shuttle bus into Dubrovnik. Even at 9:30am the city was crowded. Even though Croatia joined the EU, they still use their currency – the Kuna. Most places would not take Euros so I got some Kuna from an ATM. I immediately headed to walk the wall before it got too hot and more crowded. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to do the complete walk. It was a very clear day so the views were terrific. My FITBIT said I walked 8000 steps and the equivalent of 45 flights of stairs.
After getting back to street level, I stopped for a lemonade. Turns out it was fresh squeezed lemon juice and water. I added sugar but it was still very tart.
After walking around a little, I bought a ticket for a 50 minute boat ride. This gave me the ability to get pictures of the wall from the sea. Yea!!
Since we will be back here on the 23rd, I decided to head back to the ship at 1:30pm.
A fun thing that happened was that I posted a picture on Facebook and the guide from my OAT Croatia tour responded. We figured out that we will both be in Split on the 22nd and we are trying to arrange to get together.
Tomorrow is Kotor. Looking forward to seeing It again.
For those joining us on Venice, it has been hot and humid in every port.

Glad you are blogging again! Love today’s pics, especially, as it’s on the old bucket list.
