September 30, 2018 – Gozo Island, Malta
The Gozo port is so close to Valletta that the ship didn’t start sailing until 5:30 am. Tendering to the dock started at 8:30am. When we got off the tender, locals gave each person a map and a local pastry. Further down the street two Hop On bus companies had their buses parked and ready. I decided this is what I’d do. I got a seat on the top deck. For 2 1/2 hours we drove around the island listening to a taped commentary. It was good. I didn’t hop off anywhere because our all aboard time was 2:30pm. Gozo has more unused space than Malta. It also has more greenery. Most of my pictures were taken from the moving bus.
Tomorrow we will be in Palermo, Sicily.
Tomorrow is also the half way point of my trip.   Holland America has hit another home run for me.  Every member of the staff has been helpful and friendly.  I’m more tired than I thought I’d be after almost 4 weeks. I look forward to the next part of this adventure.

  1. Elsie, thanks again for “taking us along” on your travel adventures. Your comment that you’re “more tired than I thought I’d be after almost 4 weeks” is telling. Maybe you need a vacation. 🙂 When I saw the name of your most recent stop, Gozo, it jarred something in my (strange and wonderful) mind. Gozer was a shape-shifting god in the original “Ghostbusters” movie. Maybe I need a vacation. lol

ps Congratulations on winning your Holland America Silver medallion.

    1. Traveling is tiring, but totally rewarding. We just returned from a Paris pre-cruise trip and 14 day Baltic Cruise that was the most port intensive then we’ve ever done. Enjoy the rest of your trip. I am enjoying your posts.
