October 20, 2018 – Luxembourg City
We checked out of the hotel and left at 10:15am. We headed for the Old city center of Luxembourg City. We met our local guide and walked back to where the buses parked to see a statue, We had a 90 minute walk through the old city.
At noon we were released on our own to find lunch. This is usually a n optional tour but due to the deviation it was free with a 20 euro stipend for lunch.
At 1:450m we boarded the bus and set out for the American Cemetery. This is where many from the Battle of the Bulge are buried. General George Patton is buried here too. We were given a tour which was very informative.
Finally at 430pm we arrived at the River Rhapsody which will be our home for 6 nights. A man on the top deck played trumpet while we boarded.
We found letters saying that we are getting a $300 credit toward a future trip. I also received a bottle of sparkling wine. It turns out we have 5 bottles between 6 of us. Tonight, we drank Carol’s – we will try to drink all.
After dinner, they had another open bar night.
Tomorrow we will be in Cochem, our last Mosel River city.

  1. The grave of General Patton Dec 1945 was a surprise. I look forward to talking about that.. Your view of interior of the cathedral is awesome. Love the river boat…Elsie, life at Stoneridge will be so boring compared to this experience. I miss you! Love, Marcia
