February 14, 2020 – Finnsnes and Tromso
This morning was uneventful and many slept in. The ship stopped at Finnsnes at 11am. It was going to leave at 11:30. Peter decided that we needed fresh air and exercise. As soon as we landed, we set out to walk around a long block just outside the pier property. We were back by 11:15pm
Tromso was the next stop at 2:15pm. The ship was staying here for a little over 4 hours. We took a bus tour around Tromso including going through a tunnel with 2 roundabouts in it. We visited the Tromso Museum where we learned more about how Northern Lights work and an exhibit about the indigenous people the SAMI.
Next we went to the Polar Museum. It has rooms filled with items and information about life in Northern Norway. It was mostly dedicated to fishing, sealing, and the famous Norwegian explorers. It was snowing heavily as we exited the museum.
We got back to the ship by 5:15pm with plenty of time to freshen up before dinner.
Happy Birthday to my friend Tim!!!!!

First, thanks for the birthday wishes. (Thanks to Ron Mella’s vote in a very tight election, I was voted into the Septuagenarians Club.)
Thanks again for taking us along on another one of your world adventures. This morning, as usual, I am up early for a Premier League match and I see that stormy weather in the North Atlantic is lurking nearby for you. I was interested to see that the route for your cruise took you above the Arctic Circle, but based on your photos, it doesn’t seem to be very cold, considering. Still, please stay warm. This is your first trip over the last 7-8 years in which you’ve ventured to a colder climate in the winter, yes?
I look forward to your upcoming posts.
