Last night the ship was really rocking.
I’m still keeping to my cabin so I missed a few lectures today. The doctor came to do my covid test. He said I’m doing all the right things. He gave me more ibuprofen and a knee support to wear.
At 5pm we arrived at Elephant Island. It was overcast so my pictures aren’t very good.. As we sailed by they read us the story of Shackleton’s men who were stranded on the island for over 3 months during wintertime.
Due to the covid situation, they have broken dining and lectures into 2 seatings. I was told that in addition to 6 passengers that 3 crew also are Covid positive. This is still less than 5% of the people onboard. The ship has 102 passengers, 80 crew, and 18 expedition team members..
My knee has less pain but the rocking of the ship isn’t good for trying to stay upright when walking. Once the seas calm down, I’ll rejoin the rest of the ship.
