Our flight from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires left at 9:20am. Since we were divided into two dining times, I got to go to breakfast at 5:30am. (The 2nd group went at 6:15am) As we left the ship the expedition team, Hotel manager, and captain all bid us goodbye. We boarded buses by penguin group and headed to the airport.
The flight was uneventful and we landed in Buenos Aires at 12:30pm. The domestic airport was very crowded. Getting to our buses was confusing because that day Argentina decided that the airport tel key, one to get some water or coffee, and the final one to get our Covid test for returning to the USA. It was almost 3pm before I got into my hotel room. I was starving so I went to the food court across from the hotel for a quick snack.
We went to a steak house in Puerto Madera for our farewell dinner. It was very good but way too much food.

We had until noon to get our bags out. Most flights were leaving Buenos Aires between 9:30pm and 11pm. They gave us the schedule for our departures. My bus was originally leaving at 6:30pm but was moved up to 5:15pm due to possible road disruptions due to strikes.
At 1pm we were back on buses for a three hour tour of Palermo and Recoleta Cemetery. Palermo is a beautiful section of Buenos Aires that is filled with parks. When Brian and I used to stay here we spent a lot of time walking through the parks in Palermo. Recoleta Cemetery has many famous people buried here but the most visited crypt is that of Evita Peron. All crypts have an above ground building with 2 floors below ground.
Back at the hotel at 4pm, they had sandwiches and salads for us to eat while waiting for the busto the airport.
My bus had no problems getting to the airport so I was comfortably relaxing in the Business Class Lounge by 7:30pm. There were people from the cruise who had booked Premium Economy seats but United switched to a plane with only Economy and Business Class sections. One couple got moved to Business class but the rest had an uncomfortable flight home in Economy.
The flight got into Houston before 5am. We had to wait to get off until 5am when the Immigration Staff starts work. Thanks to Global Entry, I was through quickly. The flight to SFO was uneventful and I was in my apartment by 11am.
