We disembarked the Ocean Explorer at 9am and boarded buses for a 4 hour tourosf Oslo. The passengers who had not completed their 5 day isolation left later and went directly to the hotel and their rooms.
Our bus drove through the city as the guide pointed out sights. We drove up a hill to the1952 Olympic Ski Jump. It has been lengthened since 1952 and has been used in European ski jumping competitions.
Back to the city, we went by the University, the Royal Palace, and the National Theater. We walked to City Hall where the Nobel Peace Prize is given out. All the other Nobel prizes are awarded in Stockholm but Nobel had specified that Oslo should be the site of the Peace prize.
We arrived at the hotel at 130pm and I found out my room was ready. After dropping off my bag, George, Margy, and I went to a restaurant around the corner. Norway is very expensive. Fish and Chips was $25 USD. I napped a little in the afternoon and then after a beer with George, Mary and I went to the same restaurant and split a meal of mashed potatoes and pulled pork.
