Everyone was loaded onto a tender at 8:15am to go into Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard. Four tour buses were waiting for us. We drove first to Edgartown where we had time to walk around. Down at the docks we saw fishermen loading large buckets onto their pickups. We found out that they had gone out at 630am to get scallops. Today was opening day for scallop season.
After Edgartown we were driven all around the island while the driver told us about the island. Our driver also told us jokes and island gossip.
We got back to the pier just before noon and I took the tender back to get lunch. I decided to stay on board after lunch. At 5pm we had a solos cocktail party so we could meet other solos. At 6:30pm, we had the Captain’s welcome cocktail party. After dinner ther was a Halloween dance party. It was a full and busy day.
Tomorrow is Newport Rhode Island.
