Sorry that I am running a day behind but this trip has been busy.
Today started with a 3 1/2 hour bus tour at 9am.  We headed across the Rhone River to the Basilica de Notre Dame de Fourviever.   It is high on a hill looking down on Lyon.  We took a tour of the Basilica. On our way to the Basilica we saw the Roman theater where concerts are  still played. Next stop was the old city portion of Lyon.  Our guide took us through passageways within buildings used to get from one street to the next.   Finally, we were given free time to roam before heading back for lunch.
After lunch we did a tour to the Medieval town of Perouges.  The old town has a population of 80 persons. We got to walk through the whole town.   It is fairly unchanged since the Middle Ages.
Back at the ship, we were introduced to the Captain and senior staff before dinner.
I had a wonderful Halibut entree for dinner.  I sat in on a 45 minute French class before heading to the cabin to catch up on sleep.
