Woke up this morning moored in Arles. I was here over 20 years ago and got food poisoning so I didn’t see much of the town. Today, we took a walking tour of the city. We learned a lot about the Roman times and Vincent Van Gogh. The Coliseum in Arles is smaller than Rome but equally spectacular. They still use it for concerts and plays.
Van Gogh lived here for 15 months. This is where at least one Starry Night painting was done. It is, also, where he cutoff his ear.
Our walk was almost 3 hours and we covered most of Arles.
In the afternoon we walked to a museum filled with Roman antiquities.
