(My cold was developing during the week in Paris. Starting with this entry, I’m going from memory.  Since I got home I’ve been on antibiotics and feeling much better now.)

This morning we had our usual breakfast of bread, cookies, eggs, croissants,  juice, and/or coffee.
Oskar, Quasimodo (previously known as Igor), and I set up to investigate our neighborhood.  We walked to my favorite Marais park, Place de Vosges.   It is surrounded on four sides by apartments and shops. In the center of the park is a statue of Louis XIV.   It is a great place to relax and people watch.
Victor Hugo lived here. We went through his apartment.  The exhibit details his life. Besides being an author, he also dabbled in painting.   I’m glad we stopped to see the apartment.
Continuing our walk, we went to the Column of July that marks were the Bastille was before it was destroyed.   We saw the new Opera house next to the traffic circle around the column.
We headed down Rue de Rivoli toward our apartment stopping for a refreshing drink at an outdoor table.
We had dinner at a steakhouse near the apartment.  It is called Robert et Louise. The food was very good and very abundant.
