We arrived in Malaga at 7am
I had an excursion starting at 8:10am. I ordered room service breakfast and was ready to go by 8am.
There were 35 of us on the tour and we left Malaga at 830am heading to Granada.
It took 2 hours to get to Granada and we first visited the Monastery de la Cartuja.  Building started in 1506 and continued for 300 years. It is considered one if the finest examples of Spanish Baroque architecture. It was very impressive.
We went to the Albaycin.  This is one of the districts of Granada. It is known for its narrow streets and views of the Alhambra.
We walked almost 4 miles around Albaycin taking photos.  We then walked another mile down hills to the restaurant for lunch.
It was an interesting meal. We started with olives and bread sticks.  The next coursee were manchego cheese with iberico ham, followed by bread. a beautiful salad of greens, roasted garlic, and pomegranate seeds. Then we got asparagus wrapped in ham with cheese sauce, bread with olive tapenade, pork and potatoes. All this was served with unlimited white and red wine. Dessert was almond cake and dark chocolate covered figs. I may have forgotten a course because the food came out fairly quickly. We were at the restaurant for 3+ hours.
We left Granada at 430pm. Many on the tour are nervous because early dinner is at 530pm and it is the first Dressy night..
We got back at 6:10pm.
I found out that there had been an announcement right before we returned that our next 3 ports are canceled due to a weather storm and we are now going to the Canary Islands with 2 stops at Las Palmas and Tenerife.
Tomorrow will be a sea day.

  1. Hi Elsie, I enjoy following your travels…I stayed doing so as we have a mutual friend…although I can’t remember who! I travel most with OAT, but have done 6 or 7 HAL cruises, though not solo.
