This morning we walked across the street to Sant Antoni Market.  We sat at a counter and ordered. I asked for a cappuccino and a pastry.  Oscar ordered an espresso and a pear pastry.  The pear pastry turned out to be fish but he said it was delicious.  My cappuccino was 1ounce of coffee and 1 ounce of milk in a glass slightly bigger than a shot glass.
After “breakfast”, we walked through the Barrio Gothic.  We went inside the Cathedral.  There was a special mass going on.  There were 8 men and women sitting on the sides of the altar during the mass. At the end, they walked in a processional with the priests to a side Chapel where each was given a medal. It was very interesting to watch.  The choir was very good.  Oscar climbed the stairs to the roof to see the view of the city while I watched the mass.
We walked down La Rambla but it was very crowded.  We went back to Sant Antoni Market and had lunch. Back at the apartment, we both took afternoon naps.
I had set up for us to take a Tapas tour in Poble Sec which is near our apartment.  There were two other couples who joined us and Maria, the guide.  We went to three different restaurants and had more than enough food and wine.  At each location Maria gave us information about the food, folklore how tapas came to be, and we discussed Catalonia politics.  It was a great evening.  I booked it through Barcelona Taste. I highly recommend it.
We learned that Tuesday is the Day of Saint George. We had seen the decorations on the Catalonia Building. They give out roses to women and books to children to celebrate.
Back to the apartment and asleep before 11pm.
