It rained overnight but when I got off the ship twas just cloudy and cold. I walked to the Funicular to go to the Upper Town. I had booked a tour of the Frontenac Hotel through Viator. We met on the Boardwalk in front of the hotel. There were 2 guidesin period dress and they divided us into 2 groups of 14. I was in the group with the Count of Frontenac, Governor of New France in the 1600’s. We had a one hour tour of the hotel while learning about it’s history. It was a very interesting tour.
Outside on the Boardwalk is a toboggan run that is open in the winter. The Boardwalk is a great spot with views of the river and lower Town.
I got back to the ship at 1pm and was glad that the rain had not started again.
We sailed out of Quebec City at 4pm. Their was a great view of trees starting to turn colors from the ship as we sailed.
We had all received a free dinner in the steak house, The Pinnacle Grill. We went at 630pm and had fabulous meals. I had crab cakes, rib eye steak (way too big) with sides of mushrooms and beets. For dessert, I had the Chocolate Souffle – always great end of a meal. J and C headed off to a dance show and I headed to the casino. I broke even by night’s end so I am feeling good.
Tomorrow is Saguenay.
