Today we are in Saguenay Fjord docked at Le Baie. I opted for a ship’s excursion. We’ll sail down the Fjord for 2 1/2 hours and then bus back to the ship.
There were 44 of us on the ship. The temperature (Fahrenheit) was 45° when we took off and peaked at 53°. I sat on the upper outdoor deck while most stayed huddled inside. We had a guided pointing out the towns and other sights as we sailed. We saw miles of fall colors. There is a rock formation on the Fjord that looks like a Labrador Retriever.
The boat portion of the trip ended in Anse St-Jean, a small village where we had lunch before boarding our bus. We stopped at a covered bridge over the Salmon River for pictures. We drove up hill to a series of platforms overlooking the Fjord. It was perfectly clear and a great view. When I was here 10 years ago, it was so foggy that we couldn’t see anything.
Back to the ship. J and C had walked into town and were now resting and reading.
After dinner we went to a show by “Harry the Piano”. He is a famous British pianist. He was very good and also funny.
Tomorrow is a sea day.
