We awoke in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I love this port because the world’s largest violin is on the dock next to the ship.
All three of us had signed up for an excursion called ”The Spirit of the Fiddle”. It took place in the port building. We were seated at tables facing a stage. There were 3 musicians and WOW, they were great. They all are famous in the region and each plays multiple instruments. For most songs, they had guitar, piano, and Fiddle. Real toe-tappin’ music. They did one song with a Celtic dancer accompanying them. At the end they asked for volunteers to square dance. Carolyn took part in this. It was a fabulous show.
After we had lunch. Carolyn and I both had mussels, fries, and beer while Jan had soup and sandwich. MM-MM, good!
The ship took off at 330pm heading to Halifax. The show tonight was Harry the Piano. He was really good. He did a Gershwin medley that was complete. His closing medley included ABBA songs, West Side Story, Schools out for the Summer, and Great Balls of Fire. It brought the house down. He leaves the ship tomorrow. If you ever get a chance to see him, please do.
