We left Canada and stopped at out first U.S. Port of Eastport Maine. Before getting off, we each had to meet with U.S. Immigration. Since our cabins are on floor 1, we were scheduled last. We got cleared and left the ship at noon.
Eastport is a town of 500 residents. Main Street is about 4 blocks long. We decided to just walk in town and find a place serving Lobster rolls. After walking to the end of Main Street we headed back and stopped at a brewpub for our lunch. The Lobster Roll was chock full of Lobster and very flavorful. After eating we did some window shopping, we headed home.
I went to the Chef Morimoto dinner. It is served on every Holland America ship once per cruise in the Pinnacle Grill. I started with sushi. My entree was yellow fin tuna and rice cooked lightly in a hot stone bowl at the table. It was delicious. The dessert is a ball of chocolate that they pour hot caramel sauce on. Inside is white chocolate and Chocolate ganache.
C and J were headed to the Lido for pasta dinner when I last saw them.
Another event that happens once a cruise is the Orange Party. Everyone wears orange and the officers are all there and it is a big dance party.
Tomorrow is Portland Maine.
