I went on the Puerto Vallarta Highlights and Mexican Cooking Lessons Tour. We left at 815am.
Brian and I had come to PV in the 1980’s and the town has quadrupled in size. It is no longer a sleepy beach town. We walked along the malecon to see the sculptures. We got a demonstration of Inca dancjng. We went into the church and then had 2 shopping stops. There was a woman making beaded designs with very small beads.
We left PV and drove 45 minutes north to a dIrt road where we were transferred to small vans to take us the rest of the way. We drove 15 minutes down a steep and winding dirt road to La Dolce Vista. It is a hotel (5 rooms), pool, restaurant, and tequila distillery. We started with samples of their tequila. It was very smooth.
We went to the restaurant for our cooking lesson. We made Salsa, guacamole, and tostadas. We watched while they showed us how to make enchiladas. We left at 145pm. All aboard for the ship was 230pm. We got to the ship at 305pm and were quickly escorted on and the ship sailed out.
There was a new juggling comedian who was very good. Tomorrow is a sea day.
