January 11, 2025 – Punta Arenas, Costa Rica

Today we arrived in Punta Arenas, Costa Rica. We were docked next to a Princess ship. Steve and I had both signed Up for the Eco Tropical Mangrove River Cruise. The description said we would have a 30 minute ride to the river but due to road construction and weekend congestion the trip took almost 2 hours. We cruised down the Tarcoles River for 2 hours seeing many different birds and a number of American Crocodiles. It was a fun excursion and the trip back to our ship only took 1 hour.
I have met many new friends on this cruise, played many games of bridge, and gambled a bit. It has been very relaxing and fun. Steve has a booked a 51 day South Seas cruise for this fall. He’ll leave a week before I start my 45 day Mediterranean cruise. We will both be in search of bridge partners.
We have a sea day tomorrow (Monday) and then we transit the Panama Canal on Tuesday.
