Today is our last full day. We started started with a discussion of the first two plays we had seen. Next,
John Henrick, a Theater historian, told us the history of musicals and why the seats cost so much. He was a fascinating speaker and had many stories.
After lunch Marcus Choi, an actor in tonight’s play, spent an hour with us. He told us about how as an Asian actor he has progressed from typical background roles to playing George Washington in “Hamilton” to be a role in “Maybe Happy Endings “.
We had a French dinner at Cafe Un, Deux, Trois which was next door to the theater. We saw “Maybe Happy Endings” with Darren Criss, Helen J Shen, and Marcus Choi. It was a show filled with many technical devices that I had not seen before. I enjoyed the show.
Tomorrow we have a quick wrap up and then we leave. I’ll be going to Westchester and Connecticut to visit family and friends. I’ll be back in NYC on May 18th to start my Five Boroughs in Five Days tour. I’ll also be seeing two more shows. I’ll be back blogging then.

Hi Elsie— I loved following you on this tour of Broadway! Every part of it sounded wonderful. I’m sure you know we did the Five Boroughs tour with Carol and Tom. That was great and you’ll enjoy it too! Glad you are having so much fun!

Good to hear from you! Your trip sounds so fun with all your various side trips and tours as well. I have a questioln for you as I think you can probably help or know someone who can. My granddaughter and friend are going to a concert at Citi Stadium in Queens in mid June and need a walkable (hopefully) hotel for the night after the concert. I worry about safety issues of course. Can you or someone you know suggest a hotel?? I know they’ll be $$ but safety is the issue here. I have googled and found a couple half a mile away which is certainly walkable but will the area be safe?? Do you have any suggestions. Ubering will probably be impossible and same for cabs. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!! Thanks and enjoy the rest of your trip especially the 5 boroughs!
