Voyage of the Vikings

I am flying into Boston two days early for a 35 day cruise called “The Voyage of The Vikings”.  The cruise starts July 25 and ends August 29.  Besides the itinerary, what drew me to this cruise was flying to Boston and the gradual change in time zones as we sail.  (After S.E. Asia and Croatia, I need a break from getting home completely jetlagged.)

This will be my 18th cruise on Holland America. Coincidentally, the ship I’ll be on is the one Brian and I did the Baltic cruise on exactly 8 years ago.  At most of the ports, I have some exciting excursions planned.  I’ll be seeing a lot of waterfalls, puffins, and, hopefully, icebergs.  A few ports are repeats for me but I am looking forward to seeing them again.

  1. Really like that you’re doing a blog. I’m infrequently on FB now and like that I can reply on this. You are a serious world teaveler

  2. No grass growing under YOUR feet; seaweed, maybe, but grass? No way. After this voyage, you probably have sailed and flown the equivalent distance of circumnavigating the globe at least ten times, yes? Well, Elsie, enjoy the upcoming adventure. Looking forward to more great pics. Take care.

  3. Let the Voyage begin! Okay, maybe it’s only the preamble to the voyage, but it’s still a start. Safe travels, Elsie.

  4. Capt. Bligh, I am notifying you that a recently concluded Naval board of inquiry found a certain Capt. Kirk was remiss in his duties for not keeping his Captain’s blog up to date. Please do not commit the same transgression, or you may be relieved of your duties. Also, remember to start each entry with the phrase, “Captain’ s Blog” followed by the appropriate star date.
