Wandering around Boston

I arrived in Boston last night.   Since I  was tired and hungry, I just ate at the hotel and went to bed.

I’m staying at the Charlesmark Hotel near Copley Square.  It has European-style rooms – small but functional. The location is good for me because I have stayed near here before and know the area.

Woke up at 5:30 this morning.  Finally got up and moving around at 7am and headed to the nearest Starbucks for wakeup cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich.

After breakfast, I walked down to the Botanical Garden and then on to Boston Common.  It is the first time that I have hit my 10000 steps before 10am.

This afternoon I had lunch with a friend that I worked with at my first job after I graduated from college in 1971.  Many years have past and though we live on opposite coasts it felt like we had just seen each other yesterday.  Thanks again for coming into Boston Marianne and Pat.

What a beautiful city.  Love the parks.  It is wonderful to see so many brick and stone buildings.  Living in  California I don’t see many brick buildings since they don’t do well in earthquakes. I love the juxtaposition of old and new buildings.

Here are a few pictures I took today.
