At Sea heading toward Greenland -July 30, 2015
The cruise has been very smooth so far. I can hardly tell that the ship is in open water.
After eating breakfast, I attended a lecture on Greenland and the port of Qaqortoq. It was very interesting.
I participate in the Viking Games on the sea days. I get points for how well I do. (In my case, I usually get the minimum points. Today’s game was to roll a bocce ball, a tennis ball, a volleyball, and a golf ball at 5 hula hoops. You got points for getting the balls into the hoops. Out of a possible 20 points, I got 4 points.
I treated myself to a Pinnacle Grill lunch. A couple that I met a few days ago invited me to sit with them. It was a very pleasant lunch.
I went to a wine tasting event at 2pm. It was all about wine blends. Very interesting and very good wines.
Today at noon our clocks and watches got moved ahead another 1/2 hour. Now we are 2 hours ahead of EDT.
Tonight is our 2nd Gala night. I am off to the Thermal Suite before dressing for dinner.
Tomorrow I hope to go out on a boat to the ice cap.
Can’t wait to see and hear about the ice cap. Sounds incredible.
