Sailing to Reykjavik

August 2, 2015 -Sailing to Reykjavik

Some time in the wee hours of the morning the sea got rough.  We are rocking and rolling today. They haven’t emptied the pool but the floor around the pool is very wet.

Walking around the ship is fun. We all look like we are drunk. The Captain said it may get worse  this afternoon.  If he has to slow down we may arrive  into Reykjavik late.

The schedule is filled with lectures, tours of the laundry, bingo, and trivia.  I had a sparkling wine tasting to go to this afternoon but it got cancelled.  They also cancelled the dance lessons.

The last report from the Captain is that we’ll be at least 4 hours late getting into port tomorrow.

We have been told that Internet on the ship may be interrupted as we get further north.  If I can’t get on, I’ll keep writing and post them all when I can.

  1. I hope the seas calm down. It would be scary walking thru that lido area. Thx for the heads up on the possibly of the Internet not be available so we don’t worry if there are no posts for a bit.

  2. It seems that they (the cruise directors) have this all wrong. If the ship is “rocking and rolling,” then so should the passengers. Full steam with the wine tasting and the dance lessons while battling rough seas. In fact, be sure that the two events are undertaken at the same time.
