August 5, 2015  Djupivogur, Iceland

Last night was rainy and windy.  When I woke up the weather was just as bad.   I ate breakfast in the main dining room and we discussed whether we would be able to get to the port.  This is a tender port .

At 10am, the Captain announced that it was unsafe to tender and that he was cancelling this port.  We were told to stow all loose items and wear sensible footwear because the weather will be getting worse.   Oh well, this is just part of cruising.

The  cruise director is scrambling now to come up with things to do.

Tomorrow is a sea day as we sail towards Norway.

    1. I am so sad that you are having rough weather. I have read that in other yrs. cruisers have missed this port also. This isn’t any consolation but….on the Eurodam last yr. we missed Shetland Isles as a hurricane had developed and was rushing to the North Sea. The captain increased our speed and we did miss the heavy storm but bumped along holding onto railings and stowing articles in our room. We were able to spend additional time in Iceland as we arrived early.
