August 15, 2015 Dublin, Ireland
I went on an excursion with Cruise Specialists called Beautiful Dublin. It was a bus tour of all the sites of Dublin and a guided tour of the Guiness brewery. We left the ship at 9am and drove through the city getting to Guiness about 10am. The tour was very informative and we each got a ticket for a free pint. The top floor bar has a 360 degree view of the city.
After Guiness we drove through more of the city. We were given the option to get off downtown but I decided to go back to the ship. We arrived back at 2pm and after I had lunch I decided to stay on board.
The ship had a free shuttle to and from Merrion Square which many took advantage of.
We have one sea day and then 4 ports in a row. I’ll try to post but as we go north the internet may not be available.
Ah, Dublin, city of James Joyce. Did you drive by 41 Brighton Square, Rathgar, Dublin, his birthplace? I’m loving your brief comments and pictures, I get the feeling your are really
enjoying this cruise.
