August 25, 2015  St. John’s Newfoundland

We arrived in St. John’s at noon. Many of us had pre-booked the Legends tour.  They were waiting for us right outside the port gate with 2 buses.

First we drove to Cape Spear. This is the eastern most place in North America.  We spent 20 minutes here. There are 2 lighthouses and some walking paths.

Next we went to Petty Cove.  This is a small fishing village.  We, again, had 20 minutes to walk around.

We drove through the city of St. John’s and saw the many colorful houses.  We went next to Quidi Vidi which is a small town.   They have a brewery there but we only had time to walk a little and take pictures.

The final stop was Signal Hill.  This is where Marconi received the first radio transmission from Europe. We arrived back at the ship at 4:30.

We sailed out at 8pm and there was a gun salute as we passed below Signal Hill.

August 26th is our last sea day.  We arrive in Halifax at 8am on the 27th.
