December 23, 2015 St. John U.S.V.I.
First, I forgot the most exciting thing that happened yesterday. About 11:10 the emergency bells started ringing and all crew were told to report to their stations. Next the Captain said that passengers should stay where they were. I had just started a bean bag game but when the star trooper looking firemen rushed by I decided to head to my room. About 5 minutes later the Captain announced that this had been an unannounced drill not a real fire. It was pretty exciting.
Today, Earl and I met up to tender in to St John. The seas were very rough and the tender was moving up and down. The crew told the woman in front of me to wait but she jumped and her flip-flop slid and she fell inside the tender. She broke her ankle and was taken to the infirmary. We finally got on the tender and got into town.
Earl and I had made reservations with Cruz Bay Watersports for a snorkel, picnic, and sail excursion. It was great fun and we saw fish, stingrays, and turtles. I highly recommend them if you ever come to St. John.
We didn’t have any time to spend in town so my pics are from the tour boat.
Back on board we played trivia twice. We won the second time and we’re in second place the first game.
Tomorrow is St. Barts. The plan is to just wander around.

  1. I’m getting to the point that I don’t want to tender anymore. It’s getting to be too scary. Love getting your update every day.

  2. Flip-flops to get on a tender?!!?? Ignoring the crew’s instructions??!!?? Stay away from this woman!

The cruise sounds great. Glad you’re having a good time.

  3. Given that it’s pretty darn chilly back here, your pictures were really inviting. I request some pictures of you especially when you are all dressed up for the Captain’s dinner!

  4. Really enjoying reading your blog, Elsie! I agree with Carol! Steer clear of the flip flop lady! Sometimes people on vacation forget all their common sense. Did she leave the ship to have her ankle tended to?
