January 1, 2016 Samana, Dominican Republic
It rained overnight and looked cloudy as we approached Samana. The Captain said we would have intermittent showers and sun. He also said that the tender trip would take 20 minutes.
We decided to play Trivial Pursuit and go in midmorning. Around 10am they announced we no longer needed tender tickets and to just head down. We got to deck 4 and there were about 75 people waiting and no tender in sight. After waiting 15 minutes and seeing how rough the water was we decided to stay on board,
We went and sat on the deck chairs on the back know of the promenade deck. The tenders we saw both coming and going were really bobbing around.
We decided to watch him “Mr. Holmes” which was playing in the theater but I had brought the DVD from home so we watched in my cabin. It was not the best movie so each of us nodded off during the movie.
We played trivia twice and won once. I had to override my Canadian teammates on Where was Alexander Graham Bell born? They thought it was Canada.
It is hard to believe that we have one more port and a sea day before returning to Ft. Lauderdale.
Tomorrow is Grand Turk.
