July 2, 2016 – Salt Lake City, Utah
We left Jackson at 8am. We stopped first right before 10am in Soda Springs, Idaho. They have a geyser that goes off on the hour. Or so they say! The geyser is capped and manually until opened by some government person who obviously doesn’t work on Saturday. It wasn’t a complete loss because there was an old hotel which had converted the 2nd floor into a museum. It was very interesting to wander through all the rooms.
Next stop was Logan Utah for lunch at Angie’s where for $6 you get a large half sandwich and soup or salad. The place was packed but Leah had called ahead and they saved space for us. The food was really good.
We got to Salt Lake City at 3pm. After checking in and having down time, we met atb4:45pm to go to Temple Square. We were met by 2 young Mormon woman who took us on a guided tour while giving us information about the history of the Mormon Church. We got to hear a band practicing in the Tabernacle. Finally, we had dinner at the Lion’s House Pantry which is housed in the Brigham Young house.
Tomorrow is another, long driving day. We are headed to Bryce Canyon and will arrive late in the afternoon.

I have never been to Salt Lake City and it’s on my bucket list! But I have been to Bryce and it is one of my favorite areas. That and Zion! Both beautiful and amazing. Have a great time and I can’t wait for pictures! It will be (sort of) like being there again. Have fun!!
