July 10, 2016 – Durango to Albuquerque
We left Durango at 8am. Places to stop are few and far between so our first nest stop was at the Apache Reservation Travel Center and Casino. We got there at 10:15 and many of us went running to the restrooms. We continued on and stopped at the Jemez Pueblo. We were divided into two groups and each group learned how to make clay pots, visited the museum, and ate lunch. It was an interesting stop.
We got to Albuquerque at 3:15pm. After getting our bags and freshening up, Earl, Linda, and I went to “celebrate” my birthday. This consisted of my opening cards and a present,
We met up with the rest of the group to go to Old Town and have the Farewell dinner. 22 of the group fly home tomorrow while 17 of us stay on until Friday.
Tomorrow morning we’ll be visiting the Pueblo Cultural Center and driving down part of Route 66. I’m not sure what we’ll do the rest of the day because the high may exceed 100°.
Thanks to all that wished me a happy birthday.
Sorry only one photo today of the wall at the Jemez Pueblo Visitors Center. IMG_0912wp

  1. Mmmm. Albuquerque. Stopping by to say hi to Lissa? The ride to Santa Fe is lovely. Almost feels like the Catskills. Are you going to Taos, too? Have fun.
