March 6, 2017 – Bridgetown, Barbados
The Prinsendam docked directly in front of the Koningsdam. The ship arranged for anyone interested to take a tour. Linda and I were in the first group to go over. The art work was interesting but the ship itself felt too big. It can hold up to 2800 passengers. It has some interesting new features like the music walk and the Lincoln Center performance area.
In the afternoon we took a “Natural Wonders of Barbados” tour that our travel agent had given us. It was a lot of time on the bus getting from one spot to another. The Botanical Garden that we visited was thd high point. We stopped at a farm to see black bellied sheep.
March 7, 2017 – Point-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe
Linda and I did the “Ecrevisses Falls and Cousteau Marine Reserve” excursion. The falls were in the rain forest. We had a 15 minute stop here. We continued to the other side of Basse Terre and boarded a boat. We shared the boat with a french tour group. There was an area below the main deck which had glass windows to see the coral reef and fish. We were split into 2 groups because we all couldn’t fit. It was interesting but not something I would recommend. Back at the port we looked at the shops and decided to board our ship.
Tonight is pirates night with a dance party.
Tomorrow is St. Martin followed by 2 sea days with our arrival back in Ft. Lauderdale on March 11. I’ll be busy packing so my next entry will be when I get home. Thanks for following along.

  2. Nice that you got to take a look at the koningsdam. I spent 10 days on the ship in November. It’s a lovely ship but service was lacking. I do love the bigger ships. I can’t believe your trip is almost over. It’s been a delight following your blog. Thank you for the time you have devoted to it. I really loved reading it.
