September 14, 2018 – Naples
I woke up early and watched as the ship approached Naples. The ship was cleared and passengers were allowed off at 8am. I had arranged another tour with ITALYTOURS.COM. We had 15 people in a van. First we headed to Pompeii. Luca, our driver, arranged to have a guide take us through Pompeii for 2 hours. Gino, the guide, was very good at showing us around and explaining everything. It was very hot despite the fact that we were there from 9am to 11am. I can’t imagine what it is like later in the day.
When we got back to the van, Luca said we would be driving for an hour to get to Sorrento. When we arrived we were given 2 hours free time. I found a restaurant and had cavatelli with sausage and broccoli. I was so thirsty I had 2 beers with the meal. After lunch I wandered around before heading back to the van.
Finally, we drove along the Amalfi Coast Road to Positano where we turned around and headed back to the ship. The coast views are spectacular.
We got back around 4:15pm.
I’ll be back in Naples on the 2nd part of this cruise and will be doing another tour.
Tomorrow we are in Messina where I am taking a tour of Taormina, Castelmola, and Messina.

Having been to all the places you show, I really enjoyed your pics. I was on the Adriatic coast in August and temps were 100 give or take a few degrees. I feel your pain(sweat)!

Stay hydrated, Elsie! That means water. You have a lot of traveling ahead of you and you don’t want to end up in a hospital dehydrated. Scenery is great and very nice pics!
