May 29, 2019 – At Sea
I woke this morning at 6 am. The ship was just a south of Eureka, California. Our first port will be Ketchikan this Friday.
I had a nice breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill.
I spent the morning roaming around the ship before settling down to finish my book. At 11:30am I went to bingo. It has changed since my last cruise. The casino now runs Bingo. The sheets require a dauber or pen. No more folding Bingo squares. Prizes are lower than in the past.
After lunch I took a mixology class. Only 3 of us signed up. We were taught to make 3 different cocktails. Each of us got to make one. Mine was called “The Brillante”, It was made from gin, sweet vermouth, and coffee. It was very good. Rayna and Mathew were the other 2 “students”. They are young’uns – in their twenties. They were a lot of fun. The pictures today are from the mixology class.
At 5pm I headed to the spa to relax in the thermal spa. I napped a little on the ceramic lounger and finished up with the steam room.
Back to my cabin for a shower and to dress for the first Gala night.
Dinner was very good. We still only had 3 of us at the table but we were told that another woman would be joining us tomorrow night.
The show tonight was The Alley Cats who sing doo wap songs. They were very good.
It was overcast all day today with a high of 55° F.
Another sea day tomorrow.
