June 10, 2019 – Tracy Arm & Juneau
At 6:30am the ship was at Sawyer Glacier and started the slow sail out of Tracy Arm. I woke up at 7:30am and missed the first hour. I went out to the front of floor 9 after breakfast to take pictures. We should exit Tracy Arm around 11am and head for Juneau. The weather today is cool and overcast.
We are tendering in Juneau. At 1:40pm we got the announcement that tenders are starting to take passengers in. It is drizzling and it is 52° F. I decided to wait until 3pm to go in. Just as I opened the door I heard an announcement that tenders were being delayed. I wandered down and got on the line for 4 and 5 star Mariners. At 3:45 we got onto a tender. The rest of the tender had numbers in the teens. Upstairs they were up to giving out numbers in the 50’s. I heard later that some people waited 3 hours for a tender. It was raining as we left the ship so I put my camera in ziplock bag. I wanted to find an ATM so I walked the length of town before I found a Wells Fargo. There were 4 other ships in so town was really crowded.. Since I had been to Juneau before I headed back to the ship. I was back by 5pm.
The ship doesn’t sail until 11pm tonight.
Tomorrow is scenic cruising of Frederick Sound. I am doing an excursion called whale watch and wildlife quest.
