October 22, 2021 – Ronda to Cordoba to Ubeda
We left Ronda at 9am heading to Cordoba. We drove past many wind farms and groves of olive trees.
Arriving In Cordoba at noon, we started with a paella tapas for a snack. We started a 2 hour tour at 1pm. First up was to see the interior the Mosque-Cathedral for an hour. It is a Catholic Cathedral built inside a former Mosque built on top of a Visigoth church. The architecture is amazing. I hope my pictures do it justice. The interior is mostly Moslem architecture and the Cathedral was built in the center after carefully removing some of the original arches.
After the Cathedral, we walked around the old city. One stop was at a former synagogue from before the 1492 expulsion of Jews from Spain.
We got to our hotel in Ubeda at 6pm. It is a former monastery from the 1600’s. Our room is huge.
Dinner tonight was at the hotel. The entrée was Sea Bass.
Tomorrow we spend the day at an olive farm.

  1. I love your pictures. Cordoba was one of my favorite places. The Church/Mosque is breathtakingly magnificent. I’d love to go back. For now, I’m happy to be traveling with you. Enjoy and thanks for sharing your trip!!

    1. We have no concept of one town being built on top of another. And so the idea of three different places of worship that have
built over or inside another over centuries is mind boggling. These pics were spectacular. Denise
