December 20, 2012 – Still at sea

Before dinner last night there was a solo travelers cocktail party. It was a great time. All 17 from the expedition team were there. They were as curious about us as we were about them.
Patricio, our Cruise Director, said that the sea is going to be rough overnight. When I got to my cabin I found that the balcony furniture had been brought inside. I slept well and didn’t feel it until I got out of bed.
We all look like drunks when we walk. They said that it might be worse tonight .
We got our boots today. We also had a meeting about the Zodiaks. They explained how to get in and out of the boats. They went over how to clean our boots both leaving the ship and coming back in. They are very strict about not allowing seeds and dirt from one area getting to another.
So far the meals have been very good. Breakfast and lunch are buffets while dinner is table service. Wine is free-flowing. I went to afternoon tea yesterday. A little sandwich and a scone was just what I needed to hold me until dinner.
We just learned that we will arrive at South Georgia Island9on the 22nd in the afternoon. This gives us an extra 1/2 day there. The expedition members have been telling us that this is the best stop for wildlife spotting.
