Today was an easy day. After another temple visit, we will sail to Luxor.
We walked down the block from our ship to the Kom Ombo Temple. The unique thing about this temple is that it was dedicated to two gods – Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus (the falcon god). An interesting feature was a wall containing their 3 season calendar. The seasons were Flood, planting, and harvesting.
After the temple we went through the Crocodile Museum which contains the mummies of 300 crocodiles that had been kept by Kings to represent Sobek. Very strange.
Late afternoon we had a lecture and Q&A about modern Egypt.
Friday is our last full day on the ship.
