This morning I went to breakfast at 630am. I also anticipating that breakfast would be really busy starting at 7am since 100 new people had arrived yesterday.
The plan for today is bus touring. We have been divided into 4 groups with color names. I’m in the blue group. Since we are 129 travelers i assume we have 32 people in our group. They set staggered times for the buses. Ours left the hotel at 830am.
We quickly left Reykjavik behind. . Our guide had a soothing voice so I have no idea what we saw until we made our first stop. It was a fine nap. The first stop was a farm where they grow tomatoes and raise horses. They are able to grow delicious tomatoes in their greenhouses. We were all treated to a Bloody Mary made with their tomatoes.
Next we did the Golden Circle Tour. I had done this 7 years ago. First we went to the Geysers were we saw the main Geyser go off 4 times 10 minutes. Down the road was the Gullfoss waterfall. Still impressive. Finally we went to Thingvellir National Park. This is where the North American plate meets the EuroAsian plate. Because of earthquakes the plates have separated. It is really fun to walk between them.
We got back to the hotel at 430pm and there was my suitcase. Hurrah!!!
Tomorrow we have a city tour and free time downtown until we head to the ship for covid testing and boarding.

  2. You are probably livening up the blue group to a bright yellow – those tomatoes looked gorgeous… mine are still green. Loved the geyser eruption.

  3. Hi Elsie, I’m about to go to Pavilion, thought I’d catch up with your trip. I relate to falling asleep on the bus. I had to give up Amtrak because I kept missing my stop.
