July 3, 2022 -Boarding the Ocean Explorer

Today was a typical “hurry up and wait day”. After breakfast I finished packing and put my bag out. I had to wait until 10:45am for our tour bus. We had a tour of the city that ended at 1pm. We were told to be back on the bus at 230pm to proceed to the ship. I went and got online for the famous lamb hot dog that Bill Clinton had while visiting here. It was very good. We were told later that Clinton had his heart attack 2 weeks after eating the hot dog.
We boarded the ship at 3pm and were escorted to the lounge for covid testing. We were told to go to our cabins to wait until all testing was completed. Finally at 445pm we were released but had to proceed immediately to the safety drill. Finally at 6pm, We were able to wander around the ship. I ran into 3 crew members that remembered me from December. I found out the Margarite, a friend from my last cruise, had just gotten off and had told them that I was getting on.
Dinner was delicious and I was in bed by 10pm.

The internet is very slow onboard so I’m reducing the size of my photos and posting while most people are asleep.
