July 7, 2022 – Faroe Islands

Today it was raining. We went by bus to a historical farm. The farmer told us that this farm was in his family for 17 generations. The farmhouse was built from driftwood. Due to fire, flooding, and an avalanche, parts were rebuilt over the centuries.
After all four buses returned to the ship, we set sail for the Shetland Islands.
We have a port talk before dinner every night. Tonight after learning about tomorrow’s tours, we were told that their are 5 passengers with Covid that are being isolated in their cabin. Not as bad as SRC where I live but still not good.
Tonight they are showing ”No Time to Die” (a James Bond movie) because some scenes were shot near Torshavn.

  1. Love reading about your travels, Elsie. Sorry to hear that Covid has hit some of the passengers. I can’t imagine being confined to one of those smallish cabins! Are they testing after every port? I hope you remain healthy for the rest of your trip!

  3. A little birdie told me that today is your birthday, Elsie. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We’ve had 15 new COVID cases reported to us so far this month, but there are about 800 of us and the victims aren’t confined to a ship’s cabin and missing an expensive tour. Take care, girl, as I’ve read one can get the BA.4 or BA.5 variant just a few weeks after already having had Omicron.
