July 13, 2022 – Gothenburg, Sweden

Our last full day on the ship was Gothenburg, Sweden. It is the 2nd largest city in Sweden. In the morning we had abuswalking tour of the city. We stopped at a meat market and were given dried reindeer and moose to try. They were actually very good. We then went to a small restaurant and got a Swedish meatball, mashed potato, and lingonberry sauce. This was really yummy and reminded me of IKEA.
In the afternoon we were given a choice of a tour of the Volvo factory or a Botanical Garden. I chose the Botanical Garden. We walked up hill for 25 minutes to reach the rock garden which had few flowers. We had walked past the only flowering section of perennials without stopping. Once we got to the rock garden, the guide said we needed to go back to the bus. The tour was not one of the best.
Back onboard we had the disembarkation talk. We’ll have a tour of Oslo in the morning and then go to our hotel. My flights home are on SAS which is on strike. I am still worried that I’ll be stuck without a flight home.

  1. Elsie,
What happens to those on the ship who still test positive when you get to Oslo? I do hope you get your flight, but Oslo, at least, is not the worst place in the world to be stuck – expensive though!
