July 15, 2022 – Oslo, Norway

Another day of touring in Oslo. We loaded into our buses at 9am and took off. I had just received word that my SAS return flights were canceled due to a strike. Our guide, Kopi, said Vantage would be rebooking us. Our first stop was Vigland Park. Gustav Vigland was a sculptor who filled this park with statues dedicated to families. Children, parents, and grandparents are represented.
Next we went to the Fram museum. They have a full size replica of Amundsen’s Polar expedition ship. You can walk through on and through the ship.
Our final stop was the Folk museum. Located on 160 acres, it has homes and other buildings throughout Oslo’s history. The main attraction is the StaveChurch from the 1200’s.
We returned to the hotel about 1pm. I had lunch and then checked to see if I had flights home. They were able to get me a flight on SAS to London and then Air France to Paris and Paris to home. My first flight is at 8am so I am leaving the hotel at 5am.

My next blog will be my last for this trip and I’ll let you know where I’m going next.
